Obituary of James "Jamie" Watson

WATSON: James "Jamie" Gordon Watson of Brandon, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the age of 55 years. Jamie was born on January 11, 1963 in Vancouver, British Columbia to parents Gordon and Joyce. Jamie will be dearly missed by his loving wife Bea and their adorable dog Sheena, his mother Joyce (Lorne), stepdaughters Tina (Darrin), Sheila (Darren), grandchildren Sara, Ryan (Kierra), sisters Yvonne, Korene (Mike), Kim (Hal), Diane (Harv), sisters-in-law Linda (Brad), Donna (Craig), brothers-in-law Dennis and Len, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Jamie was predeceased by both sets of grandparents, his father Gordon and father and mother-in-law Frank and Verna. Shortly after his birth, the family relocated to Gimili, Manitoba due to his father's career in the Air Force. This is where he attended his early years of schooling. In his teen years, his family then moved to Shilo, Manitoba, where he completed his middle and high school years. Jamie's love of cooking landed him his first job at A&W. He then moved on to Shilo Military Base kitchens, and also cooked and prepared meals for special events at the Sokol Hall in Brandon. Other employment throughout the years included Westman Tire Shop, Radic's Chrysler, and Stan's Fine Foods. Jamie was an avid sports fan, hockey being his sport of choice. He was a Montreal Canadiens fan, a long time Wheat King's season ticket holder and his Grandkids number one supporter at all their sporting events. Jamie's other interests included cars, watching cooking shows, and sketching his dream home. The most important thing in life to Jamie was family. He enjoyed visits with everyone near and far, sharing stories and playing many different card games. He will forever be in our hearts and his wish to everyone would be "always be happy and enjoy life." A Celebration of Jamie's Life was held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Brockie Donovan Chapel.
