Being in Vancouver when we learned of Moya's passing and unable attend the celebration of her life we still took time to remember the many fun interactions with her and yes if anyone, Moya's life is cause for celebration. As one of those who came in contact to her, her dry sense of humour, the kindness she showed and the inclusion of others, all enviable traits. We are better for having known her. Hang in there Mike, Harold and Delphine.

I met Moya through our mutual passion of figure skating. I absolutely adored her. She was cultured, educated, intelligent, well-spoken and simply delightful. She always told me how much I made her laugh. I will never forget the impact she made on my life. I felt as if I were a better person simply by having known Moya. I will never forget her. Moya was such a fun loving, kind and compassionate woman. She will be missed by all that knew her. I treasure my friendship from the 70's to 90's as an ICU nurse and working along side Moya. My thoughts are with you and this difficult time. Sharon Edwards Trigg

As I sat at the back of the hall at Moya's funeral I thought of what my wife, Shari had said on hearing this sad news.
"Moya"' she said, "was very kind to us when we were first married".
I imagine a lot of people would today be thinking similar thoughts...Kindness. I remembered being a very inexperienced young doctor drafted to fill in when the ICU medical staff were suddenly depleted.
And then struggle to learn fast and not screw up too much, in the eyes of the ICU staff nurses who were a formidable, even a terrifying group.
Moya was exactly the kind of nurse you would want if you were sick: tough, smart, cheerful, caring.
I'd say that was unique but the ICU and the wards were filled with smart tough caring nursing staff.
Still precious few possessed her energy or the lightness of touch that the best nurses always have.
The ability to make sick people feel better even if they weren't better .
I am glad that she had an amazing life in spite of it's challenges in later years
We should all strive to be like her.
With the deepest respects,
Derry & Shari Decter

Dr Taylor and family, so sorry to hear of Moya's passing. I worked with Moya in ICU, shared laughter, tears and listened to many great stories in the back room. She was a great mentor to a new nurse and encouraged my love for education about the heart with the Heart and Healthy Lifestyles. May you find comfort as a family as you share stories, laughter and tears. Please accept my sincere sympathies, Deb Thiessen
