WALDON: Marion Euphemia (née Ramsay), resident of Fairview Home, Brandon, MB and formerly of Rapid City, MB. It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our loving mother and grandmother on March 23, 2018. Marion was born on November 20, 1929, fifth daughter to parents Alex and Ellen (née Gordon) Ramsay in the RM of Blanchard. Marion received the majority of her education in Cardale. Marion worked as a bank clerk in the Rapid City Royal Bank and became involved in the community. As a young woman she was active in the Rapid City United Church activities, the Deborah Rebekah Lodge and the Recreation facilities. She was particularly proud to have been named the first Carnival Queen at the Rapid City Skating Rink as well as being a Lodge member for over 50 years. She married William Waldon on June 20, 1951 and shortly after left her banking position to be a farmer's wife and raise her family of six children. She was a fun loving, caring, and hardworking wife and mother and continued to work hard in the community. She enjoyed golfing, entertaining, dancing and travelling. Marion loved to decorate her home and yard and set a well-dressed table when she entertained. She was very patriotic, loved Canada Day Celebrations and flew the Canadian Flag proudly.
