The news of Mr. Jeff's passing was devastating to me. I was one of the fortunate students taught by him many years ago during his time in Kuwait. All the geometry proofs and theorems, life stories, and fun weekly interviews with students made everyone look forward to attending his class. I still remember him returning from his trip to the Maldives, where he was so eager to let everyone know of his engagement to his fiancé whom he dearly loved. I also remember his fondness to his German heritage, hence how I know that 'Freiheit' translates to 'Freedom' in Deutsche. Truly a kind-hearted, wild-spirited, and free soul, may you rest in peace sir.

Mr.Freiheit taught me for a short time in 6th grade and he was my first genuinely good teacher. He really cared about all his students and he was always patient and nice with us. I remember crying so hard when my parents broke the news to me. I hope his wife is alright now. I remember helping her kindergarten class out with my good friend at the time.

Mr. Freiheit taught myself for various courses and helped me be the athlete I am today. He was always full of light and always had a smile on his face. Something I learned from him was to be my self and never let anyone get in the way of my dreams and goals. In honour of Mr. Freiheit I will try my hardest in all games, practices and competitions. I will do well in school and pass all my courses to show my thankfulness of all the things he taught me.

My deepest sympathies. Only really spoke with Jeff once as he coached my daughter's s soccer team this spring but he took the time to come sit in the bleachers with me to find out who's mom I was. Jeff was one of those special clients that became a friend. He always had time to chat about what was going on, and between his travels, teaching abroad and other activities we had the pleasure of getting to know Selena and he family as well. Jeff, or Fri as we call him was a very special person to the basketball team at Crocus. He taught things that our coach Hartman couldn't teach us. He taught us life lessons, how to be positive, and how to respect one another. Our team will never be the same without him there cheering us on and always giving us high fives before and after the game. The team will miss him so much.
