Obituary of Muriel Kille

KILLE: Muriel passed away suddenly and peacefully on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Muriel was born in Brandon on April 29th, 1928. During her childhood years, she was raised on the family farm in the Margaret area. In 1945, the family moved to Brandon. On June 3rd, 1950, she married Les Kille and they celebrated 60 years of marriage before Les' passing in September, 2010. Together they raised four sons, twins Ron and Don arrived in 1951, Rick followed in 1954 and latecomer Randy was born in 1961. These sons were collectively called "the boys" by Muriel and Les. Muriel was a very talented lady, she played the guitar and sang. She also excelled in the kitchen making everything from pickles to pies! Other interests included gardening and traveling. She and Les enjoyed many trips to Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico and Europe. Many years were spent with the ACT where lifelong friendships were formed. Her biggest accomplishment in her mind was raising her four sons; she took great pride in being our Mom. She loved spending time with her family, sisters, sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great grandkids. Up until her very last days she was there for everyone with advice and guidance. Her gift was that she made people feel special, often with unique comments on Facebook using her iPad. Muriel was a very special person, loving, caring and easily making friends wherever she went. Her final home was at Sokol Supportive Housing where she spent many hours visiting with staff and fellow residents. She loved it there! She will be greatly missed by her sons Ron (Mona), Don (Becki), Rick (Kelly) and Randy (Cheryl), her grandchildren, Julie (Colin), Erin (Andy) and David (Ron); Tammy, Brent (Kim) and Tim (Nicole); Dawn (Philip), Joe (Tenelle) and Chris; Kayla and Kerri. Great grandchildren Caedy, Lincoln and Hope. Her loving sister Audrey (Lionel), many nieces, nephews and friends. Many thanks to Dr. Groves, Dr. Deong, staff at Brandon Clinic, Sokol SH, BRHC and all who assisted Mom. A Celebration of Muriel's Life will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Friday, September 21st, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at the Rapid City Cemetery.
