Obituary of Emma Isabella Allison

ALLISON: Emma Isabella Allison (Heaman), February 23, 1924 to November 5, 2018. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Emma Isabelle Allison (Heaman) on November 5th, 2018. Emma will be greatly missed by her immediate family: children Janet (Mark) and Gordon (Beth), her grandchildren Michelle (Sean), Ryan (Susan), Aaron (Brett), Chris (Kate) and Greg (Claire) and her great grandchildren Shane, Kalyn, Autumn, Ryder, Addison, Dusty, Finn, Jayden, Stella, Emmett, Paige, Ellis, Brooklyn and Kennedy. Also surviving are her brother Walter Heaman and numerous nieces and nephews. Emma was born in the Harmsworth District on February 23, 1924. Emma is predeceased by her loving husband, William (Bill) Allison, her parents Gordon and Agnes Heaman, her siblings Alvin, John, Clifford Heaman and Lorna (Rowan). Emma spent her childhood growing up in the Harmsworth District. She attended Hargrave and Virden Schools and graduated as a teacher in Winnipeg. She taught school in Arawana and Breadalbane districts. After her marriage to Bill, they lived in the West Two Creeks District for 30 some years and then retired to Elkhorn, Manitoba. She was a farmer's wife to the fullest, milking cows, feeding chickens, and driving tractor if needed. She loved gardening and had great plentiful gardens which she harvested and preserved every year. Her hobbies consisted of handicraft work, she made many many dollies, and quilts that have been left for family and friends. Emma lived her life to the fullest, embracing participation in every community she lived in and surrounding ones. She was a member of the Trinity United Church Women's Group, Elkhorn Agriculture Society, Elkhorn Legion Auxiliary and Elkhorn Manor. She held some executive positions at some time or other in all of them. She was also a member of the West Two Creeks and Burnbank Women's Community Organizations. She had great friendships with everyone she was involved with. Emma's greatest love was her family; she loved hearing and spending time with family. She insisted that she never got enough of it. She spent the last three years in the Elkhorn Elkview Lodge and loved the friendship of all her neighbors. They spent many hours playing cards, and attending lots of activities together and she loved it. We thank every one of you for being so good to her and always making sure our mother was OK. A Celebration of Emma's Life was held at the Elkhorn Trinity United Church on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Interment took place at the Elkhorn Cemetery. HER BRIGHT LIGHT WILL BE MISSED
