Lynda Sharpe nee Haney posted a condolence
Monday, June 29, 2020
Hi to Wayne's family. My name was Lynda Haney and I knew Wayne when I was 16. He had just moved from Saskatchewan and just started at MTS. He came to my high school prom. I lived in Wpg, but moved to Vancouver in 1961. Wayne was 2 years older than me. His birthday was May 31, 1940. After I moved to Vancouver I went back to Wpg. in the summers and saw him then. He came to Vancouver for holidays in 1971 and I was married and expecting my son.
I am so glad that Wayne married and had a long life.
I would love to know if you receive this note.

I just found out about Wayne's passing. I got to know Wayne when I worked at the Data Board (the Blue Board) in Ft. Rouge Building. I never met Wayne physically; only on the phone. He was so great to work with in solving Data troubles - patient, kind and friendly and very knowledgeable in his job. Thanks Wayne for crossing my path in life!

Leona and Families, we were very sorry to hear of Wayne's passing but we also know he put up one heck of a fight. We both had the joy of curling with him at different times of our lives. I remember when he lived in Dauphin and he approached my dad and asked him if he would let me curl in a bonspiel with him. I was in grade 11 and i am glad my dad said yes. As for Fred they curled at different times together. Wayne was a super curler, a friend and a gentleman. We know you and your combined families will miss him greatly. We are sorry we were not able to attend the funeral as we are still in Mesa AZ.
Fred Trottier and Karen Coulter.

Leona & Family,
So sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. Our thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time! Wayne was a great MTS co-worker but more importantly he was a great friend & fellow curler. We had the pleasure of travelling to three national telecommunication curling events with Wayne as the skip representing the province of Manitoba & MTS. We so enjoyed those events with him and lots of other bonspiels over the years! He will be missed by so many!

So sorry to see this news. Our sincere regards to Wayne's family. I worked with both Wayne and Dennis Jacobson (mentioned) at MTS. Those were such good days. I was the apprentice (kid) and these two guys were a couple of my mentors, especially on evenings & midnights. Our most sincere regards from Sherryl and Brent Reid. Great memories brought back to life by sadness!
