Obituary of Raymond Simpson

SIMPSON: Raymond Lavington Simpson, September 30, 1933 - April 27, 2019. On Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, Dad peacefully passed away surrounded by his family. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his children Debbie (Gordon) Holditch, Robert (Patty) Simpson, grandchildren Stewart (Aimee) Holditch, Karlee (Graham) Batchelor and Great Grandsons Grady, Archer, Jay-Dee, brother in law Ron (Val) Parkes, nieces, nephews and friends. Dad was born in Shoal Lake as the youngest of five. He sadly lost both his parents at a young age then went to live with his sister Pat. Dad was a hard worker, who couldn't wait to enter the work force. He worked the majority of his life as an equipment operator at Bradley's Sand & Gravel, he also worked at MacArthur Truck & Trailer and the Brandon Sun back in the day. One of Dad's career highlights was working on the towers at the Peace Gardens. Dad met Mom on a blind date in June of 1960 being married later that year. They celebrated 52 years of marriage before we lost Mom. Ray loved to tinker in his garage on old cars, wood/steel projects, up keeping the house, camping and spending time drinking coffee with family and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Sandria, parents Robert and Olive, siblings Thomas, Patricia (Marcus), Sylvia (Fred), Gwen (Frank) and Dennis. A Memorial Service was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Friday, May 3, 2019. Donations in memory of Raymond may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Unit 1-452 Dovercourt Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R3Y 1G4
