MITCHELL: Reginald "Reg" Lloyd Mitchell, of Dauphin, Manitoba, passed away surrounded by love on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre at the age of 76 years. Reg was born on October 4, 1942 in Brandon, Manitoba son of Charles and Yvette Mitchell. He spent his childhood in Justice, Manitoba before joining the army in 1959. After seven years of service, Reg began his adventure in the petroleum industry. He met the love of his life, Carolyn Hawley, whom he married in 1967. His career brought him from Brandon to Winnipeg where his two caring daughters, Katrina and Korrina, were born. The family moved to Whitehorse, YT in 1982 where fishing and canoeing with the girls became a summer past time. In 1989, they moved on to Fort St. John, BC for a short time and back to Winnipeg retiring in 2000 after 33 years with Petro Canada. Reg enjoyed curling, baseball, and hockey as a young man and later spent his time gardening and doing home repairs. After retirement, Reg lived a quiet life of learning everything he could about computers, supporting his wife with her business ventures, cooking and trying new recipes. He enjoyed playing cards with their friends, traveling, and taking cruises with friends and family. He was kind, lived for his family, and loved his girls and his grandchildren. Reg is survived and will be missed by his wife, Carolyn, daughters Katrina Mitchell of Dauphin and Korrina Mitchell-LaRiviere (Marc) of St. Lazare, PQ, and grandchildren Alexandre (16), Abigayle (12), and Ava Kathryn (6). He is survived by his sisters Irene (Cecil) Kennedy of Forrest and Elaine (Martin) Kilfoyle of Saskatoon. Nephews: David Kennedy of Forrest, Andrew Kennedy (Sherri) of Brandon, Scott Kilfoyle (Samantha) of Saskatoon plus great nieces and nephews and a great-great niece and nephew.
