Obituary of Darlene Demers

DEMERS: Darlene Demers (née Hunter), passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the age of 58 years. Darlene was born on March 3, 1961, in Pembroke, Ontario. She grew up in Shilo, and moved to Brandon as a young adult. She then moved throughout Ontario, and Alberta, and finally settled again in Brandon, to be closer to family. She graduated from Princess Elizabeth High School in Shilo. As a teenager, and throughout her adult life, Darlene worked in the food service industry. She loved being around people, and was very patient when she was teaching new workers how to do their job. She took great pride in doing a good job, and was a hard worker. Darlene loved to garden and to read; she could get lost in a book for hours. Darlene is survived by her daughters: Claudette and Stephanie; brother Rosslyn Hunter and sister Claudia (Mark) Nieradka. Darlene was predeceased by her parents Claudette (née Potvin) and Clifford. A Celebration of Darlene's Life will be held at Central United Church, 327 - 8th Street, on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Honorary Urnbearers will be nephews: Brennan Hunter, Shawn Hunter, Steven Nieradka, Kristinn Nieradka, and niece Delayne Nieradka.
