Obituary of Genevieve Twerdochlib

TWERDOCHLIB: Genevieve Marliyn (Duquette) Twerdochlib passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2019, in Estevan, Saskatchewan. Genevieve was born in Coderre, Saskatchewan on April 25, 1940. Her early years were spent travelling from town to town across the prairies as her dad worked on the trains as a conductor. Later, she spent time in a convent where she was introduced to a life with God. She also spent time on a farm with her aunt Gene and uncle Norman, where she learned farming and hard work, but also how to sew, bake and cook. She met the love of her life, Mac, when he was working construction in Shilo, and she was working as a waitress in a café in Minnedosa. They were married in Brandon, on July 14, 1962. They started a family soon after. Wayne was born in 1963, Donald in 1964, Arlene in 1969, and Dean in 1976. She enjoyed life as a homemaker and mother. She loved teaching all of her children to play sports, cook, bake and sew. She was always on the go, helping her children, taking us to see new places and introducing them to God with Sunday school, church outings, and always teaching them how to live life to the fullest, to forgive others for their mistakes, and always help others that need a hand. Her grandchildren will remember her for all the adventures she led them on, and all the talks they had with her. She is gone to be reunited with Mac and God. She will be dearly missed by her children; Wayne, Donald, Arlene (Mike), Dean (Twyla); grandchildren: Thomas, Anthony, Amber (Steven), Craig, Kristian (Breanna), Destiny (Cameron), Cody (Jenna); great grandchildren; Amie and Baylen. Love you, big hug! A Celebration of Genevieve's Life was held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, on Thursday, November 28, 2019. Interment followed at the Brandon Cemetery.
