Obituary of Wilfred Mazawasicuna

MAZAWASICUNA: Wilfred A. Mazawasicuna, born August 29, 1940 to Frances (Taylor) and Edward Mazawasicuna on Oak River Indian Reserve, made his journey home to Spirit World on December 12, 2019 at the age of 79 years. Wilfred is survived by siblings: Carl Mazawasicuna, Martin Mazawasicuna, Angela Waters, Betsy Mazawasicuna, Harold Mazawasicuna, J. Clayton Antione, Lenny Poucette and Almer StandingReady as well as many relatives from: Cansayapi, MN, Sisseton, SD, Spirit Lake, Nd, Ft. Kipp, MT, Tatanka Nazin, SK, Wahpeton, SK, Dakota Plains, MB, Canupawakpa, MB, Cankaga Oti, MB, Berkley and Hemut, CA and Wipazoka Wakpa. A Traditional Wake service will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Sioux Valley Veteran's Hall at 4:00 p.m. A Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the MazaCankuKaga family cemetery.
