Obituary of June Therien

THERIEN: June. With family by her side, our mother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre at the age of 81 years. June was born on June 21, 1938 near Brandon. She went to live with Hilton and Rose Attridge in the Beresford area at the age of seven. It was while living there that Hilton and Rose became her parents. June attended elementary school in the Beresford area and spent her high school years at St. Michael's Academy. In the early 1950's, the family moved off the farm and into Brandon. June began working at the Metropolitan store and later she met our father, Noel Therien and on June 28, 1958 they were married and celebrated 47 years together. In 1963, the family moved to Dauphin for three years, where June was a homemaker raising three children. In 1966, the family moved back to Brandon settling in the family home on Dennis Street. In 1967, Ron was born and in 1972, June went back to work starting at the Brandon Sewing Factory and then Perth Services where she worked for 25 years until her retirement. After us kids were grown, Noel and June purchased a cottage in Chimo Resort on Lake Wahtopanah, where they enjoyed many summers of family get-togethers and socializing with friends. June is survived by her children; Clayton (Brenda), Yvonne Evanyshyn (Rod), Shane (Alana) and Ron; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; sister-in–law, Elaine Bollman; brother-in-law, George Judson and brother-in-law, Gerald Piche. June was predeceased by her parents, Hilton and Rose Attridge; her husband, Noel; brothers, Carl, Al, Keith and Cecil Bollman and her sister, Doreen Bollman. A Graveside Service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 2:30 pm. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation "Dialysis Unit", 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3 in June's honour.
