Obituary of Roberts "Bob" Pollock

POLLOCK: Roberts Pollock, better known as Bob, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020 at the age of 74 years. Bob was born in Brandon on April 11, 1945. His parents Fin and Mae, farmed north east of Brandon and raised five boys, Dick, Bill, Bob, Larry, and Lance, and one girl, Alberta. He had lots of memories of his siblings growing up on the farm, and they stayed close after they grew up. Gun shows with Dick, goose hunting with Bill, deer hunting with Larry, love of photography with Lance, love of art and horses with Alberta were shared interests. After attending school in Clinton, Douglas, and Forrest, Bob went on to study auto mechanics at Manitoba Vocational Training Center, and then practised the trade for 38 years. He worked at Minnedosa Auto Sales, Brandon Chrysler Dodge, Keystone Esso, Woolco, and Canadian Tire. In 1970, he married Margaret (Cocks) and they raised two daughters, Christina and Kelly. Our family now includes Christina's husband Jason and their two daughters Alexis and Kendra. Bob was very involved in the girls' activities when they were growing up, whether it was coaching and umpiring softball or cleaning out the barn, getting the horses ready for horse shows. Bob belonged to the Brandon Wildlife Association, Brandon Gun Club and really enjoyed trap, skeet, and sporting clays. He was often going out of town to participate in different competitions. Bob was happiest when he was outdoors; whether it was yard work, tossing the ball around, hunting with his brothers, shooting at the club, snowshoeing, skiing, or just going for a walk in the bush. He was an avid photographer and painter, mostly of wildlife and nature scenes. Bob is survived by his wife Margaret, daughters Christina (Jason ) Dale, Kelly Pollock, granddaughters Alexis and Kendra, sister Alberta (Ed) Neufeld, brothers Bill (Donna), Larry (Pat), Lance(Shelby), sister-in-law Carol Pollock, his extended family Earl Cocks, Art (Fay) Cocks, Colleen Immerkar, Audrey (Mervyn) Innis, Burkley Hunter, nieces and nephews, Mike, Peggy, Heather, Dawn, Denise, Tracy, Terry, Colleen, Stephanie, Stephen, Erin, Scott, Karl, Terry, Mark, Todd, Jim, Larry, Jim, Tim ,Cherry, Wendy, Collynda, Terri-Ann, Keith, Myles, Denise, Laurie, Derek and Jared and their spouses and families, as well as children and spouses of Sylvia Rickard and Allan Hunter.
