At the age of five years, he moved to Leon, Guanajuato where he attended elementary school. He was the second one of his family and for that reason he started to work at an early age. He dropped out of school to help his parents. At the age of 19, he got married to Adela and they had nine children; seven daughters and two sons. When he was in his late forties, he attended the adult school and graduated from High School and after that he received his diploma in Chemistry. He worked in Leon as a technician in different companies especially in manufacturing shoes and leather items. In 2002, he moved to Brandon as part of the second group of Maple Leaf workers. He never missed a day of work and he was noted for that and his hard work. He became a Canadian citizen in 2009. During his life he enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, and dancing. He was a marathon runner, he ran in Mexico and USA, he was an athletic person and enjoyed to go for walks with his daughter, Lupita and his grandson, Carlo. His faith was important to him and he was faithful until the end with his devotion to God, the Virgin of Guadalupe and Saint Michael. This faith helped to keep him alive. He participated in the Mexican Pavilion when the festival started back in 2003. He was a proud Mexican and he also loved this country so much. He will be remembered for his faith and strength, for teaching his children to never give up and to always be compassionate and to enjoy every single day. The family would like to thank the staff at the Palliative Care and especially Reina Ramos for her help and understanding. Our dad was grateful for the ladies (nurses and nurses' aides) for all their support and help.
