Obituary of Catherine Churchill

CHURCHILL: Mrs. Catherine Churchill of Brandon passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg on February 18, 2010 at the age of 95 years. Catherine "Kay" Churchill was born April 14, 1914 in Goodeve, Saskatchewan to Olena and Nick Prokopiw. She belonged to a family of six brothers and she was the oldest of five girls. Kay moved away at a young age to work on friends' farms, and eventually moved to Souris. She married John "Jack" Churchill and moved on to Brandon where she resided most of her life. Kay lived with her daughter, Shirley, for over 35 years. She worked at the Brandon General Hospital in the kitchen as a cook for over 20 years. She moved to Winnipeg in 2004 after her daughter, Shirley, passed away. Kay is survived by her sister Lee Beutel, son Johnnie, daughter Ilene, and 13 grandkids and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, daughter Shirley and sons Gerald and Winston. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, Brandon on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Placement of the urn will take place in the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium, followed by a time of fellowship at Seniors For Seniors, 311 Park Avenue East, Brandon
