Mike was born November 18, 1924 in Oakburn, Manitoba, the second oldest of four boys, (Morris, Nestor, and Suzon).
He was predeceased by his parents Phillip and Cassie and his youngest brother, Suzon.
As a young man, he went to Rogers/Wheatfield Schools, and then worked on the farm with his parents Phillip and Cassie. Mike met Rose Boychuk and they were married November 14, 1948. Due to health reasons, Mike and Rose sold the farm and moved to Brandon in 1973, this was a new start for them both. Mike was employed as a Custodian for the Brandon School Division for 17 years. He worked at Vincent Massey, Sacred Heart and St. Augustine's Schools which he enjoyed immensely. After his retirement, Mike enjoyed his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and helping on his daughter's farm. He also enjoyed going to their cabin at Ditch Lake.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The Funeral Service was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Thursday, October 14, 2010 with Rev. Shannon McCarthy of Central United Church officiating. Interment followed at the Brandon Cemetery.

"Distance never separates hearts that really care.
For memory spans the miles and,
in seconds we are there.
We hear your voice, we see you smile,
and deep inside we know,
that you remain a part of us
wherever we may go.
So we can visit anytime,
no matter when or where,
for distance never separates
hearts that really care.
God knew the road was getting rough,
and the hills were hard to climb.
So, He closed your weary eyelids,
and whispered. Peace Be Thine."
