Just want to let everyone know I finally got to meet my Biological Dad Reggie in October 2010 and it was so amazing I paid his way to Tuk from Edmonton. He drove from oaklake to Edmonton with his car just about missed his plane, car trouble but he fixed it and the lovely ladies help him get on the next plane with out charge. He made it to Inuvik and he couldn't wait to meet me, he was telling everyone he coming to meet his daughter and as soon as Reggie says my name Joanne he gets treated even better, everyone knows me around the small towns. So he made had it to Tuktoyaktuk and people we're telling him when you here this loud laugh that's your daughter Joanne. I went in to the airport terminal and didn't see him right away one lade said just excited I'll show you where your dad. Of I just had to laugh and he was looking my way he stood up and said there's my Beautiful Daughter and have him a hug and told him let's go to my place and meet my Husband and 5 Grandchildren he was excited but I surprised him with my Birth mother being there because I didn't know him that good she know him and they were surprised to see each other. He was very happy told my Birth mother that he thanked her for a beautiful daughter he got to meet. So if any of my family there wants to get ahold of me write me on Facebook. We sure enjoyed our visit together for 9 days and I sure do miss his phone calls and I did phone Shirley maybe twice and then lost contact.

'Jim' you will be sadly missed my friend. Always a cheery smile, always a helping hand. I will miss the wee chats and your insight.
My deepest sympathies to your family
When a person you love passes away
Look to the night sky on a clear day.
The star that to you, appears to be bright,
Will be your loved one,
Looking upon you during the night.
The lights of heaven are what shows through
As your loved one watches all that you do.
When you feel lonely for the one that you love,
Look to the Heavens in the night sky above.

My colleague, Dr. Vincent Covello and I were very saddened to hear about the passing of Elder Reggie Blacksmith. Althought we only met him briefly he left us with a very powerful message that taking care of exch other is more important than any material gratification.
We shall always have a fond memory of his kind spirit.
Our sincere condolences to his family.

Shirley, I was saddened to hear of the passing of Uncle Jim. He will be remembered by his great personality, wisdom and smile. I am very sorry that I could not make it to the services, or to say my farewell to Uncle Jim. He will be surely missed. It was a wonderful surprise when he and Ivan/Lisa came to Whitecap last month, I enjoyed his company, and I realized how much I missed my friends in Sioux Valley and Canupawakpa. You will be in my prayers, and that Uncle Jim will watch over us all.
