Mama Dede.....what a wonderful life you have lived! I guess longevity is in our genes. I will remember your dedication and devotion to Grandpa. I will remember the many Christmas mornings when I was was so young, waking up to a tree just LOADED with gifts. I will remember you in the kitchen, singing while you cooked for your family ~ we were there so often then! I will remember the love you had for your garden ~ you knew the name of every flower in the world! When I think of you, I remember the butterfly blanket, the small cord below the phone in the kitchen that we could pull to wake up the boys, music, laughing, your heavenly lilac tree - my favourite smell to this day! I remember when I found out that you loved riding horses ~ just like me! When we're young, we all seem to forget that our grandparents were young once, did young things, had young thoughts and did fun things! I remember being so surprised that you could get on a horse! :)
I remember dinner time at your kitchen table ~ so very important to sit with your family and no one does this anymore. We told stories, laughed and played games at that kitchen table over the years. "Here's a better post...strike it if you dare!"
Almost 97! You are tough Mama Dede! I hope to have as many good years as you did.
