Jack dropped by the golf course a couple of weeks ago and asked if he had his job as a starter at the first tee next year. I said, Without a doubt!".
Jack, I will miss you shuffling into the pro shop and saying, "What's up kid?". I will miss your sense of humor but more than anything I will miss your friendship.
Goodbye for now, my friend.

"Hawk" and the Hockley family. Sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. The best expression of influence we can have in life is the imprint we leave on the hearts of those we touch along the way. By all accounts the swath of impact left by Donovan is extensive and he can be proud of the legacy he has passed on in all of the family who now cherishes his memory forward. A life well lived and a job well done.
Sincerest regards,
Stew

Wes,I was sorry to hear your father has passed away. I enjoyed the brief time that I spent with him and his tales of the good old days and had planned to take an afternoon and get back out to see him again for a visit.
He had a long and full life and you and all the Hockley family will have many wonderful memories to cherish.
Sincerely
Jean Moir

Wes, Garth, Glenn, Dale & families ~~~ we were saddened to learn of Uncle Don's passing. He was a special uncle & we have fond memories of sharing with us his tuning in to a radio station out of Waterloo, Iowa that played old-time music. We regret that we were unable to attend his funeral, but our thoughts & prayers are with you all at this difficult time ~~~

My father (Don Johnston) grew up on a farm close to the now defunct village of Carnegie.
Dad and his two siblings (Stew and George) attended Powrville School and it was there that they met Helen and Don - they all grew up as friends.
During a visit home to Brandon in 2004, Dad insisted that I meet a fellow and his wife that he knew as a young boy growing up; it was Don and Helen.
It wa a memorable visit. Later over a lunch Helen had prepared, the years receded as the trio relived their youth amidst laughter and anecdotes. Powerville School, Carnegie, hired hands, and the Great Depression were all rehashed and relived.
Later, Don took us for a ride at a seemingly breakneck pace, in a Model A Ford that he'd restores himself - at age 90?
There are gone now, but they all lived full, interesting and fulfilling lives.
Warmest regards....
George Johnston
