Obituary of Murray Devenny

DEVENNY: Murray Scott Devenny passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on August 21, 2011 at the age of 83 years. Murray was the beloved husband of Verona (Verna), father of Cheryl, Timothy, Lloyd, and brother of Gerry and Margaret. He leaves to mourn many special friends and numerous family members including three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Murray was predeceased by his parents, Neil Scott and Hannah (nee Hogan) and brother, Neil. Prior to the last three years of being in Brandon, Murray and Verna resided in Yorkton, SK for eight years. Murray worked for the CNR as a locomotive engineer out of The Pas area. After 38 years of service, he retired in 1984. After retiring, both Murray and Verna enjoyed 17 years of fishing, boating, snowmobiling and beautiful sunsets at Rocky Lake in northern Manitoba. As per Murray's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family ceremony was held.
