Obituary of Ruby Grace Roberts

ROBERTS: Ruby Grace Roberts of Dauphin, formerly of Rapid City, passed away peacefully at her residence, Dauphin Personal Care Home, on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the age of 99 years. Ruby was born on January 6th, 1913 at Rapid City, MB. She lived in the Rapid City - Rivers districts on the farms and then retired to Rapid City. At the age of 85, she moved to Dauphin to be closer to family there. Ruby attended Robinville and Mount Vernon schools as a child. She, along with her first husband, Joseph Webster, whom she married in 1934, worked very hard through many difficult years but she totally enjoyed the farm life raising cattle, horses, chickens and pigs. She was also very interested in the wild animals around the farm. When she wasn't doing these things, she was sewing clothes for her four children, crocheting and knitting. Joseph passed away in 1970 and in 1976, she met and married Alex Roberts from Rivers. They moved into a new home in Rapid City. They had many great years traveling and working together in their yard and life was a little easier, but Alex passed away in 1990 and Ruby was alone once again. She belonged to the Anglican Women's Auxiliary and the Hospital Aid of Minnedosa. Ruby is survived by her three daughters, Evelyn Butler of Kenton, Barbara Hudd of Dauphin and Doris Berringer of Kamloops, BC. Sisters Doris Malinoski, Eva Adams, Margaret, Gwen and Mildred, all of Calgary, AB. Brothers Andrew, Colon, John, Gordon and Joe of Calgary. Also many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
