SIMPSON: Sandria May Simpson (née Jefford), was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba June 28th, 1941. She passed away peacefully at the Assiniboine Centre with family and friends at her side on June 13, 2012. In 1958, Sandy moved to Brandon, Manitoba. This is where she went on a blind date and met and married the man of her dreams, Raymond Simpson, on December 17, 1960. When the children were younger, Sandy enjoyed being a housewife and Mother. Upon the children going to school full-time, Mom decided that a part-time job was in order and she worked for the Bee Cleaning Company. In 1976, The Brandon University became Mom`s place of employment and she enjoyed it immensely. Mom treasured the people and students she met and conversed with. She loved to visit and keep up with the comings and goings of friends and family. She retired from the University in 2002. Mom loved going camping and enjoyed the lake where they had a seasonal site for twelve years in Killarney, Manitoba. She loved when people came out for a visit, especially the grandchildren. Mom was the first one to offer you a coffee and loved for you to take a load off and visit for a while. She loved to tease and give her favorite son-in-law a hard time and was always trying to one up him, how we will miss those funny moments. Mom enjoyed her retirement. She loved being home in her later years, not venturing too far. The coffee however, was always on, in the evenings it was tea for her favorite son and special friend, Patty. Mom loved to converse on the phone, making long distance calls to catch up on everyone's comings and goings. She loved when her brother Ronnie phoned and talked about his trips and her nephews Zak and Jeff. Sandy is survived by her husband of 51 years, Raymond, her children, daughter Debbie and husband Gordon Holditch, her son Robert Simpson (Patty Stachowich); her grandchildren Stewart and wife Aimee Holditch; Karlee and husband Graham Batchelor. Also surviving are her brother Ronald Parkes and his family along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother; Florence (Flo) Parkes and father; Albert Jefford.
