Kim and family - We are so sorry for your loss. We had a connection to Lawrence through the Scouting movement. Lawrence made the best pancakes. Sean will remember that. I had a connection with both Donna and Lawrence through Donna's illness. I loved Lawrence's sense of humour. Though we didn't see each other often, it was great to catch up when we saw each other. We pray that your faith will give you strength.

my heart feels for you sean. Your dad was an amazing man who worked hard to get to where he was in life. Sometimes having a hard hand but always passing a positive message. Your dad stood with me 2 1/2 years ago as the officiator at my brothers funeral. We could not have a religious ceremony as that was not who my brother was. I remember your dad standing with me at my brothers grave and telling me living a hard life is not easy but in the end we all find peace. He
held my hand and said that my brother reminds him so much of you Sean, and that no matter how life goes we always love a persons heart cause it never changes. Our meaning of life is different for everyone but we are all connected by our integrity to live it. Your dad taught me one of the greatest gifts in life and forever I am debted to him. He taught me that no matter if someone does wrong and words are harsh you always forgive and love.... He helped me understand that my brother loved us, but we could not choose his destiny, that all things happen for a reason....My heart goes out to you and your family cause this man has truly touched the world.

I know you will miss him greatly and my thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time.

Kimmer,
I was shocked and saddened to read of Lawrence's passing. Unfortunately, I was unable to make the service yesterday due to other committments. I have known you personally for years and met Lawrence when you had an unfortunate fire loss that I worked on. I felt after dealing with Lawrence and you that I had made a new friend and one who always kept me on my toes with any issue from my profession. Please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. Craig

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Those we love remain with us
For love itself lives on,
And cherished memories never fade
Because a loved one's gone.
Those we love can never be
More than a thought apart,
For as long as there is memory,
They'll live on in the heart.

I knew Lawrence McInnes pretty well for the entire time that I served as a Judge, of the Provincial Court of Manitoba, serving Brandon and western Manitoba communities from 1979 - 1997.
As Crown Attorney, Lawrence appeared almost daily before me. In all that time I do not believe there was ever a cross word between Counsel and the Bench, even though we may have disagreed with each other from time to time. He was always considerate of others on either side of any hearing.
When holding proceedings in outlying communities we very often lunched together, as well as with other counsel, since there was not always many dining facilities available. This made for great hospitality and varied discussions which we enjoyed together. Of course, sometimes we had to dine separately in the odd delicate hearing or trial.
While I did not become acquainted with his family, I extent sincere sympathies at this time, on the loss to them, and to us all, of a relatively young, and definitely sharp - minded, personable, individual.

Dear Kim, Shannon, Scott, Jackson & Sean,
I was so saddened to hear of Lawrence's untimely passing. My sister (Karen Elves) has kept our family informed regarding Lawrence's illness. She asked all of us to keep Lawrence and his family in our thoughts and prayers. When she e-mailed us on Tuesday to tell us that Lawrence had taken a sudden turn for the worse, I didn't want to believe it. Please know that so many people are grieving with you. I first got to know Lawrence at Central United but when he and Karen co-chaired the Building Committee for Central United Church, I got to know him better. Throughout the years, our paths have crossed on many occasions. I've heard such positive comments about Lawrence as a husband, father and more recently as a grandfather. He had the respect of colleagues, lodge menbers, church members, etc. His family and friends will miss him terribly. Kim, both you and Lawrence were so involved in so many activities in the community, there is going to be a huge void without Lawrence's presence. Karen mentioned that Lawrence has been "Santa" at the Shopper's Mall for many years, so many little ones will miss his smiling face.
I grew up at 417-5th Street so the home that the McInnes eventually lived in for so many years was always one that I loved seeing as a child. For many years now, it was especially lovely to see it at Christmas with all the lights. It made me think of a "Castle". Karen told me that Shannon, Scott and Jackson recently moved back from Ottawa and they will now be living in the same home that Shannon and Sean were raised.
Kim, my Mom always loved seeing you at the Lion's Manor celebrations. She was always amazed at the energy that you and Lawrence had.
Please accept my sincere sympathy at this very sad time. You will all be in my thoughts as you celebrate Lawrence's life on Monday at Central United Church. God Bless. Love, Arlene
