WILSON: Glen Allen Wilson of Dinsdale Personal Care Home, Brandon, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013. Dad was born July 29, 1930 to John Porter and Ida (Smith) Wilson in Arcola, SK. He attended school at Willmar, SK up to age 13 and then quit school to help out on the family farm. As dad got older, he enjoyed barn dances with family and friends. He also enjoyed curling. As a young adult, he attended the Lutheran church and he travelled down to the States occasionally with friends. He loved the Rocky Mountains in Alberta and would visit whenever he could. Glen moved to Manitoba where he worked at various jobs. He met Ora Hamilton of Glenboro, MB when he worked delivering milk. They married October 23, 1959 and moved to Cypress River where three out of four of their children were born. In the spring of 1963, the family moved east of Dauphin, MB where they lived and farmed until 2008. Their last child was born in 1967, completing their family of two boys and two girls. In his early 50's, Glen took up upholstering, which he eventually made into a business. While farming in the spring, summer and fall, he would work upholstering in the winter.
