To Darrell's family:
I was so sorry to hear of Darrell's passing. My memories of Darrell are as his physiotherapist when I would come to your home to visit him. He had a lot of spirit and determination and he made a lasting impression on me. May God bless you as you grieve his loss and may his memory warm your hearts forever.

We would like to express our sympathy to all Darryl's family and friends. We have known Darryl for many years as he has volunteered to help us at events, helped with receipts, in the office and was a board member for a time. We will miss you Darryl for your sense of humor, your smile and most of all for your desire to always put others before yourself. You have touched many lives with your kindness and our community has lost something irreplaceable when you left. You will be missed.

a beautuful service in memory of a great guy. Was so glad i was able to be there and share in the memories. A wonderful eulogy and beautiful musical selections. I can also share in the sentiments that no one saw this coming. Teaches us all to tell the people we care about that we love them and to keep them close to our hearts

I planned to attend the funeral service today but could not due to circumstances. I was sad to hear of his passing. I would like to pass on my sympathies to the whole family.
Darrell and I had gone out for coffee a few times after high school and had good visits.
He had a kind heart. I will remember him fondly.

Darrell was my Uncle, and I always knew him for his SMILE! I have many childhood memories, but like others said he enjoyed taking pictures, adored us kids, and kept all the special pics he took, and posted them on his walls and in frames! Now I have 2 children of my own, and so does my sister and Uncle Darrell was fond of all them too! Just wish we had made more time for him! Life really is too short, and we did not see this coming! I am thankful I had that last special visit with him and my children in Decemeber, and will cherish that memory forever! Rest in peace, and know how LOVED you are! We will miss you so dearly! -Jen and family

Darrell was one of the "originals" who moved into the brand new WKC in early 1994, and had the honour of cutting the ribbon at the grand opening. I got to know him well during the eleven years I worked there. He was always cheerful, pleasant and willing to help. One memory stands out. Every year on the day of the summer fair parade Darrell would take up a position at the corner of 6th and Rosser. When I came around the corner driving my antique tractor Darrell would take my picture. A few days later he would come into my office and give me a print. That was very touching and meant a lot to me. Lynn joins me in extending our sincerest condolences to his family. Rest in peace old friend. Peter Lonstrup

Darrell was one of the nicest people we've had the pleasure of meeting, he always had a smile on his face and he was a pleasure to talk to.
His presence will be sorely missed especially in the summer where he could be found sitting outside in the shade with one of his books.
RIP buddy, you were taken too soon.

Dear loved ones of the late Darell, I wish to convey my condolences to you and all his family. I use to see his parents come to the building to pick him up but never had the pleasure of meeting them. I only hope that you will find some peace in knowing that Darell had his own way of living life, he had his books and liked to sit outside and read in the summer, go to the groups where we would play SORRY which we has fun with, and also the Candy Card Bingo along with other things, he especially liked Bowling and was good at it. He and I had and spent time chatting about things he felt were important to him and about how he felt about certian things. He liked to so this when no-one else was around. He was a very private person, but did open up to those he trusted. I feel priveledged that I was one of them. I don't live at the building anymore and was relly shocked to hear about his passing. But in the days before I left he shared things that I feel are best left in my mind as he trusted me to tell me. The last time I seen him was in the Common Room with a coloring book and crayons because the group was cancelled, something I still do when something may be bothering me. Although we only knew one another for a short time they do touch your heart in some ways and I will remember him fondly as Casey as when I first saw him I kept forgetting his name but always seem to remember the grin and that it was from Mr. Dress-up. Darell you were one of a kind and I am glad we were able to share with one another.May you go into God's rest and now find the peace that we all seek. I won't say goodbye, just farewell till we meet again and we will meet again my friend. To all the loved ones may you remember the loving son you had with fond memories and laughter for this how we should remember someone who has touched their spirit and soul. May his spirit fly with the angels to his Fathers Home in Heaven. God bless you all. From Lucy and friend John Jones.
