Obituary of Eileen Joyce Diener
DIENER: Eileen Joyce "Feather" Diener passed away peacefully at Brandon Regional Hospital on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the age of 96 years. Feather was born in Lemberg, Saskatchewan in 1924. A registered nurse, she worked in hospitals and clinics across the prairies. While working in Nipawin, she met her husband Lloyd after he returned from WWII military service. Feather and Lloyd were founding members of McKillop United Church in Lethbridge, and were active community volunteers in youth groups and service clubs while raising their two boys. As empty nesters, they relocated to Manitoba: first to Neepawa, then to Rivers (OO-za-we-kwun), and finally to Brandon. Feather was a lifelong curler and golfer and an astute follower of Canadian politics and current affairs. Feather was predeceased by husband Lloyd (1926-1985); sisters: Florence Maynes and Vera Henderson and brother Don Featherstone. She is survived by her son Clint Diener and daughter-in-law Diane Lasko of Seattle, Washington, and by her son Glen Diener and daughter-in-law Carol Engelhardt of Boulder, Colorado, and by Glen's children: daughter Livia, son Ben, and step-daughter Katie. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date when travel and gathering guidance permits.
