McLean: Eldon Malcolm McLean. August 5, 1928 – March 2, 2021 – age 92. It is with great sadness that the McLean family announces the loss of a beloved father. Eldon was born in Wawota, Saskatchewan, and lived in Gladstone, Winnipeg, and Brandon, where he raised his family of one daughter and three sons. He was a devoted family man and hard worker. Eldon spent his working career in the grocery business, owned his own grocery business, and was a qualified butcher by trade. He loved curling, golfing, and baseball. He participated in many bonspiels throughout the years and was a paid hardball pitcher in his early years. This is where he met his wife Ruth who would become his wife for over 70 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Eldon was predeceased by his wife Ruth McLean and daughter Patricia Baker. Eldon is survived by his son Kenneth (Roxanna), son Robert (Sher), son Michael (Nancy), grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In accordance with Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a family gathering will be held at a later date.
