Obituary of Dawn Dickenson
DICKENSON: Dawn Marie (Bird). With heavy hearts, the Dickenson family announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Dawn passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021 at the Rivers Palliative Care, with family by her side at the age of 52 years. Dawn was born on August 25, 1969 in Brandon, Manitoba. She grew up in Brandon and later settled in Rivers after marrying Doug Dickenson in 1988. Dawn leaves to mourn her loving husband of 33 years, Doug; her three children, Samantha Perrin (Justin), Matthew Dickenson (Desiree) and David Dickenson (December) and her 8 grandchildren, Tylor and Jena Perrin, Logan, Opal and Hazley Dickenson, Lincoln and Vincent Dickenson, and Aiden Sanders. She is survived by her parents, Erna Honeyman (Charlie Hope) and David Bird (Geaneen) and her three sisters, Stacey Poirier (Ken), Amanda Bird (Brendan Taylor), Kathleen Bird (Nathan Walker). Dawn is also survived by her mother-in- law, Elsie Dickenson (Ray-deceased); sisters-in-law, Rhonda Dickenson (Michael Stadnyk) and Rae Thomson (Kelvin), and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Dawn was loved by many friends and family. She lived her life for her children and her grandchildren. She was the type of person that if you ever met her you would always remember her. Her colleagues at Prairie Mountain Health speak of her integrity in their tributes. A legacy left by Dawn will always be her courage, poise and strength that she showed to all.
As per Dawn’s wishes there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brandon Humane Society at 2200-17th Street East, Brandon, MB, R7A 7M6 or to a charity of your choice.
