Obituary of Judy Giles

GILES: Judy Giles (nee Mitchell/nee Smith) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Born on December 8, 1941 she lived 80 years on this earth, leaving love in her wake. Judy is predeceased by her parents, Lorne and Anne Smith and her brothers, Larry Smith and Craig Smith. Judy is survived by her husband of more than 35 years, Francis Giles; her children, Gerald Mitchell, Cheryl (Chris) Wendl, Kim (Edwin) Krueger and Jeffrey Mitchell (Sherry); her sister, Laureen Rosenblat (Norm); her grandchildren: Jade LaLiberty, Justin LaLiberty, Mandy Krueger, Kaileen Krueger, Jaylen Mitchell-Fostyk and Brendan Mitchell-Fostyk and a number of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. Judy is remembered for her remarkable memory of our family history. All the birthdays, anniversaries, passings and other significant milestones were never forgotten. Whether it was her parents, siblings, children, grandchildren she knew it all…and never forgot to send a card or make a phone call. Making her loved ones feel so valued again and again. Simple bliss for Judy was enjoying a cup of tea first thing in the morning, later in the morning, with lunch and, in the evening while sitting down to watch Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune. Judy had the most joyful full body laugh that once she got going there was no stopping it. Dearest mother, your pain is gone. Left is your forever loving husband and a beautiful legacy in your children, who are passing it along to their children. So enjoy another cup of tea and see the good you have brought to this world and know that the memory of you lives on in us. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022 in the company of family and close friends at the home of Judy and Francis Giles in Kemnay, Manitoba.
