Bernice Twa

Obituary of Bernice Twa

TWA: Andrew and Bernice (nee Mazier).

Bernice was born in Brandon, MB on March 29, 1921 and passed away in Toronto, ON on April 9, 2022. Andrew was born in Ellisboro, SK on December 13, 1919 and passed away in Toronto, ON on April 16, 2009.

This is a celebration of Coming Home, back to Brandon roots. Both Bernice and Andy grew up, were educated in Brandon and fell in love and were married. Andy’s musical talents convinced Bernice that a move to Toronto could be a dream come true. They, with Patricia Andrea (age 2), made that journey. What a life’s journey together and now coming home to rest is what matters. The three Mazier sisters (married names Buga, Clark and Twa) chose to make Brandon their final resting place and offer enough space for those who wished to join them. Their oldest sister Helen Maksymiuk predeceased them. Brandon has offered a place for birth, life, growth, love, wings to fly and return to the beginnings again.

Andrew and Bernice are lovingly remembered by their daughter Carol, grandkids Alexander, James and Kendra McWilliam, Vanessa Gibeau, and great grandkids, Kamran, Patricia, Aria, Cora and Sandy. Cousin Bev Clark has been a star with her regular visits to Aunt Bernie over the years. Thanks as well to the local Buga cousins for all your support.

A tribute to Bernice and Andrew will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332 8th Street, Brandon, MB on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Bernice and Andrew will be interred at the Brandon Cemetery.
