Obituary of Verna Mashinter

MASHINTER: Verna Mashinter, born August 4, 1927, Verna was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at the age of 94. Mom was devoted to her husband and family. She always had a great love for children and was a foster parent for many years. She was also called upon to look after children in crisis. When she became a grandmother, she provided childcare for all of her grandchildren. We all cherish the time we have spent with mom/grandma, and we each have our own fond memories. Left to mourn moms passing are: Linda (Jack) Burns, Judy Stuart, Shelly Mashinter, Darlene (Jerry) Antonation, Garth Mashinter (Rose). Grandchildren: Tammy and Jay Jay Burns, Jodie (Trevor) Gompf, Keith and Tara Stuart, Sean Baker (Daph), Todd (Amy) Baker, Sherry (Jeff) Albert, Scott (Kym) Antonation, Desmond (Jennean) Mashinter, Ryan (Caroline) Mashinter, Tanner (Diane) Mashinter, Greg (Patti) Mashinter, Lindsay Mashinter. Great grandchildren: Taylor, Zoey, Bailey, Denver, Spencer, Garrett, Peyten, Zach, Haley, TJ, Noah, Presley, Kenzie, Ashley, Julian, Brogan, Boston, Callie, Cohen, Toni, Caden, Ryker, Ty and Brayden. Mom was predeceased by her mother, Viney Wilkinson; her husband, Bob; sons, Wayne and Terry; granddaughter, Bobbi-Lynn; and great granddaughter, Emma. Mom’s graveside service was held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Shelly Wray as celebrant. Pallbearers were grandsons: Scott Antonation, Todd Baker, Greg Mashinter, Ryan Mashinter Tanner Mashinter and great grandson Zach Boryskiewich. A Celebration of Life was held at Benny's Restaurant, officiated by Lawrence Peters. The family would like to thank the staff at Brandon Regional Health Centre and the Assiniboine Centre for their exceptional care.
