My Dearest mama
You gave me joy, warmth and love when I had none. You saved me from the recesses of misery and suffering during my worst times especially my mental health crises and when I needed to celebrate. You cried with me and shared the difficulties of life with me. When I was disagreeable you were firm but patient. I apologize for my impatience and my single minded opinions.Whenever I faltered at school or in life in general,You were there to pick me up. You gave a me chance to live again after the difficulties I faced in my teens. You gave me a chance to repair the wounds of my childhood.You taught me to cook a good meal and to live within my means. You taught me how to save money and to avoid too much junk food. When I was alone, I called you and you did everything to be there. When I was in crisis You always made things better and gave great counsel. You nurtured my dreams and celebrated my successes.You taught me to work an honest days wage and how to succeed at work .You taught how to be responsible and independent.You helped me learn to love again. You taught me how to be a gentleman even in the most testing of times. You taught me how to live a good life and gave the tools to do so. You saved me mama. You are my hero You are a legend and I will remember you not just for what you gave but for who you are. You told me to believe in myself. I will mama and I will be kind, fair, compassionate and treat everyone equally as you have told me. I will go to church and Join the choir like you asked. I will finish school. I will work hard. I meet those goals I always told you about.I will apply myself. I will keep in touch with jack, Deb and the family as you asked. I will keep the picture of you, you gave me for the rest of my life and I will show my children as well. You lived a good life mama. We will meet again in heaven mama. I will have great stories to tell.

I worked with Allison for several years at Crisis Services as her boss. We quickly became friends which lasted long after we left the organization. Alison had the biggest loving heart and showed such empathy and compassion to all and everyone around her. My more recent memories were our getting togethers for dinner whereby I would drive out from Winnipeg and we would catch up with our other friend Debra. We kept in touch via Christmas newsletters. My sincerest sympathy to Allison’s family and many friends. I knew her briefly at BMHC before I left and we crossed paths again when she was teaching ASIST. A very dedicated, caring RPN who made our profession very proud! Her mom, DBD, was my instructor and I worked briefly with John on team III.
