I was saddened to read that Audrey had passed away. I knew Audrey from my time working at Rotary Villas. Audrey was an inspiration to me, a fascinating woman to talk to. The history she lived through was amazing. And though she lived through some tough times, she never seemed to worry or fret about life. She took everything as it came and enjoyed it all. She will be missed.

I remember Audrey Lindsay as Miss Stewart, my grades 4 and 5 teacher at the one room country school in the Hillburn district of Saskatchewan. Miss Stewart made such an impression on me that I have kept in touch with her all these years. Teaching all eight grades each day was a feat that a lesser person would have found near impossible, but Miss Stewart rose to the challenge with humour and fair and unwaivering discipline. Her talents were many, from music, theatre, seamstress, artist, and of course academic and teaching proficiency.
A great and feisty Lady has left us, and I extend my deepest sympathy to her Family in their loss.

So very saddened to hear the news that Mrs. Lindsay has passed away. I will treasure her forever as my grade 8 teacher at J.R. Reid. She didn't put up with any talking so I had my share of reprimands that year! Excellent teacher in all subjects. I also remember she had the keys to a magical cupboard by the principal's office where one could bring a nickel for a notebook! Condolences to Cheryl on the loss of your dear Mom. God bless. Our sincere sympathy to Cheryl and Norm on Audrey’s passing. She was our neighbour for many years and you could not ask for a better person. She took an interest in our young sons accomplishments and told them how proud she was of their successes. A truly great person.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Lindsay, a wonderful lady, mentor, teacher, and friend. She was an inspiration to me and so many. I offer my sympathy to Cheryl, her family and extended family for their loss.
Mrs. Lindsay was my beloved Grade 8 teacher at J. R. Reid School when it first opened and I used to babysit Cheryl so many years ago. It’s pretty remarkable when you can think back to an amazing teacher that has been such an influence in your life!
She was an icon and a role model - kind, constantly smiling, always embracing and welcoming. A real support during those pre-teen/teen years. Her integrity and her scholarship were inspiring, and I believe she impacted the lives of all of her students, not only as a teacher, but as a counsellor, guide and friend. My memories are of a vibrant personality with great energy and a mischievous sense of humour. What a great lady!
My thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time. May fond memories bring you peace, support, and strength.
With sincere sympathy,
Joan McDuff (Hill) Kingston, ON.

Iam so very sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathies. Mrs Lindsay was my grade 9
Math teacher at Vincent Massey. I have fond memories. In fact I had to take the côurse twice since I failed the first time. My favourite saying from Mrs Lindsays “don’t mix your cows with your chickens”She was very patient when all I cared about was basketball.
