STONE: Priscilla Jane Stone passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre holding the hand of the love of her life, Ron, on Friday January 6, 2023 at the age of 72 years.

Priscilla, the first child, was born in Minnedosa, MB to loving parents Keith and Bernice Stone.  She was very fortunate to live in a small community with both sets of Grandparents only a few blocks away.

Growing up she enjoyed figure skating, swimming, Brownies, Guides and was a high school cheerleader. Her involvement in the Minnedosa Valley Singers was also a highlight in her young life. She excelled in everything that she tried, whether it was academics or extra-curricular endeavors.

Priscilla was baptized and confirmed in the Anglican Church and her faith sustained her throughout her life.

After graduating from Minnedosa Collegiate she went on to Brandon University graduating with a double major in Psychology and Sociology in 1970.  She worked for over 25 years for the Manitoba Government in social services as a counsellor and mediation officer.

As soon as Priscilla married, she wanted to be a Mother. In January 1977, her wish came true with the birth of her eldest daughter, Jennifer. In 1978, she welcomed another daughter, Jacklyn in July. Her youngest daughter, Juliana, completed the family in 1981.She loved being a Mom, attending dance classes, ringette and soccer games whenever she was able.

Priscilla thought motherhood was wonderful but being a Grandmother brought unimaginable light and love into her life. She thoroughly enjoyed anytime that she spent with them. Ron, Jackie and Priscilla travelled to Disney World with four of her five grandchildren and they all had enchanting stories to tell from that trip.

Priscilla enjoyed a number of hobbies but painting and gardening stood out as her favourites. She painted many works of art and enjoyed spending time painting with other artists privately or at workshops. It didn’t matter where she lived she always had a knack at growing flowers and vegetables. Her home in Minnedosa following her retirement boasted many beautiful and fragrant roses and lilies.

Priscilla was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 30 and this disease would change her life in many ways. However, her absolute determination kept her going for another 42 years.

She always looked at life with sheer optimism! She found the best in everyone and treated each one with great kindness.

In 1977, Priscilla joined PEO, beginning a wonderful chapter in her life. P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women; educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and stewardship of Cottey College and Motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations. Her membership began with chapter Q in Winnipeg and then chapter R when she moved to Brandon. She was always going to meetings, conventions and helping change so many lives through her work with them. Priscilla made the most cherished friendships in her life through this wonderful organization. This group of women celebrated her happiest moments and supported her through her most difficult times.

12 years ago, she and Ron began a beautiful relationship. Together they travelled to many places around the world. During trips to Ireland she met and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Ron’s family. Ron took her to Graceland which was a high spot on her list of destinations. They also visited New Zealand returning home just as borders were closing prior to the pandemic. They enjoyed movie going, dining out and many trips within Canada.

She was predeceased by her parents, Keith and Bernice Stone and daughter, Jennifer (Pollon) Sundralingam.
