Dear Brenda and all the rest of Ron’s family. The Holm family is sorry to hear about the passing of your father, grandfather and our Uncle Ron. We certainly enjoyed the company of both your parents at every possible family gathering whatever the occasion…especially the weddings and birthday parties. Ron shared a birthdate with Grandpa Doidge. Memories will emerge every October 31st and linger on…Our Lindsay enjoyed his stay with Ron and Mary while attending fire college in Brandon. He appreciated Ron’s wit and humour. Ron married into a family of mostly girls. They all thought he was the epitome of ‘tall, dark and handsome’. Mary tied the knot with a good man. They started their honeymoon at our famous Manitou Beach. On route to the Watrous area, their car had a flat tire and Mary learned that Ron could swear.
Let your memories and family stories comfort you and bless you all with peace of mind.
Uncle Jim, Aunt Isabel, Lindsay, Lionel and Lyndon Holm

The staff & management at Daughter On Call wish to send our love and condolences to Ron's family. Ron will be remembered for his love of marmalade, farming, watching the squirrels & chipmunks and for supervising the neighbors construction of a new duplex. He was a man of few words unless he had something important to share. He often spoke of how proud he was of his children and grandchildren. In the last few weeks before his passing he talked non-stop about his wife and how much he loved her and missed her. We were able to see a softer, more vulnerable side of this 'tough' farmer.
I would also like to thank the family for placing your dad in Kirbyson Home. Daughter On Call truly appreciates the time we spent with Ron and the opportunity to support family as their dad aged. It was our pleasure and our joy to serve him and his family. May you all find comfort that he was ready to go, ready to be with his wife, ready to head to the valley. May he rest in peace.
