Obituary of Dale Dufour

Dale Allan Dufour

December 7, 1950 - April 27, 2023

In the morning of April 27, Dale Dufour passed away in his sleep. He was born in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan on December 7, 1950. He moved with his family to Regina as a young child, but still enjoyed going back to the farm during the summer with his aunts and uncles. After high school, he joined the Armed Forces, where he learned to be a limited electrician. He married his wife Louise (Lisa) on January 13, 1978. He and Louise then settled in Saskatoon, where Dustin was born. In 1982, he moved to Brandon where Adrienne and Barret were born. He started there with Brandon Elevator, which was bought out by Otis Elevator. He worked there for 28 years until his retirement in 2010. In addition to his job, he was very involved with his children’s lives, whether for Cubs or Scouts, or coaching softball and hockey. Hockey was a real passion to him, as he became involved with the Neepawa Titans long after his own children. He was very mechanically inclined and was always available to fix anything. Woodworking was a favourite hobby of his. He could always be seen in the shop. The many shelves, tables, toys, and other wooden decorations around the house or that were given away to family, friends, and neighbors are a testament to this passion. After retirement, he enjoyed driving the school bus, which he did right up until the very end. Dale was pre-deceased by his parents Edwin Dufour and Doris Dufour (nee Casement), sister-in-law Ruth, sister-in-law Linda, and brother-in-law Felix. He is survived by his wife Louise (Lisa), children Dustin, Adrienne (Tom) and Barret, brother Dean (Debbie) of Rocanville, Saskatchwan, sister Donelda (Ian Bakke) of Regina, Brad (Gloria) oof Oliver BC, Morley (Naramata, BC), parents in law Ermanno and Elisabetta di Nardo of Toronto, brothers-and-sisters in law Angelo (Pat), of Toronto, Grace of Mississauga ON, John (Nancy) of Caledon, ON, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Dale’s life will at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332 8th Street, Brandon, MB on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kid Sport Manitoba.
