Obituary of Anita Stouffer

Anita Mae Stouffer

 

Anita Mae Stouffer (nee Paige), 90 years, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2023 at the Assiniboine Centre of the Brandon Regional Health Centre, surrounded by family and her husband of 70 years, Lew Stouffer.

 

Anita was born on May 16, 1933, the third of nine children to Nora and Duncan Paige in the north end “The Flats” of Brandon. She attended David Livingston, King George and Earl Haig schools.

 

Anita married the love of her life, Lew Stouffer on June 1, 1953 and after starting their family in Brandon with daughters Karen and Barb, they lived in Morden and then adopted sons Lew Jr. and Joe in Neepawa. The family later returned to Brandon where they lived in several homes. Throughout her life, Mom made many longtime friends and enjoyed supporting her four children, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren’s activities and milestones. Mom knit and quilted many beautiful baby blankets that are treasured by family and friends.

 

Anita is predeceased by her parents, siblings Jimmy Paige, Leona Harrison, Dennis Paige, Beth Skilnick, Robert (Joe) Paige, and grandson Craig Beaumont. She is survived by her husband, Lew Stouffer; children Karen Beaumont (Marvin), Barb Nieradka, Lew Stouffer (Laurie Woodcock), Joe Stouffer (Greg Boguski); grandchildren Ian Beaumont (Erin), Mitch Golletz (Chantelle), Danielle Beaumont (Sean Connor), Jen Golletz, Jocelyn Jenson (Michael), Nicole Golletz and Eric Beaumont; great-grandchildren Mackayla, Kendra, Taylor and Owen Beaumont, and Aria and Myles Golletz; sisters Irene Larkins, Elaine Cotton and Arlee Mawer; sister-in-law Alice Laminman, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

A graveside memorial service will be held at the Brandon Cemetery Columbarium on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.

 

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to family physician, Dr. Butler and the doctors and staff of the Palliative Care Unit for the outstanding care they provided and the support that was given to our family.
