Douglas Charles Pettypiece

1950-2023

Douglas "Doug" Charles Pettypiece passed away with family by his side at the Brandon Regional Health Center on June 29, 2023 at the age of 72 years. 

Doug was born in Boissevain, MB on July 6th, 1950.  He had a fulfilling career in the agriculture business as a Grain Buyer and was employed with United Grain Growers, Boissevain and Parrish & Heimbecker, Boissevain and managed a grain terminal for Paterson Grain in Binscarth, Manitoba.  During his retirement he chose to work casually with Parrish & Heimbecker moving and loading grain cars to keep busy.  He was a proud member of the Boissevain Legion, and Freemasons Manitoba.  He loved to golf, curl, and always enjoyed time spent with friends and family. 

Doug and Lynda thoroughly enjoyed travelling south for the winters prior to Lynda's passing in 2019.  Doug also liked to live on the wild side on occasion and would brag about his loop and barrel rolls in his private plane when he had his pilot's license.  He also loved to hit the highway on his motorcycle and even purchased a Spyder Roadster, which he enjoyed over the last few summers. 

Doug will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.  In accordance with Doug's wishes, a funeral service will not be held.  A celebration of Doug's life will be held at a later date, and a private interment will follow at the Boissevain Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife and best friend, Lynda, who predeceased him.
