Mavis Joynt

Obituary of Mavis Joynt

In loving memory, we say goodbye to Mavis Marlene Joynt, who peacefully departed on July 14th, 2023, after a brief illness. Born on December 18, 1950, to Verne and Dorothy Joynt (Ratz) in Brandon, Manitoba, her presence impacted the lives of many during her time with us.

Mavis’ early years took place between Brandon and Rivers until her family finally settled permanently in Brandon. She spent several years working different jobs until discovering her passion for baking, which took her to Winnipeg where she embarked on a more private and soul-searching journey spending 12 years there until her return to the Wheat City in 2003. She remained in Brandon until her final days.

Mavis is now reunited with her dearly departed parents, elder sister Sharon (Taylor), and brother-in law Earl (Allen). She leaves behind her lifelong companion and twin sister, Merna (Allen), along with her brother-in-law Bob (Taylor), nephews, niece, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In celebration of her life, a memorial tea will be held at a later date, where cherished tales and precious memories will be shared.

May she rest in eternal peace as we hold her presence in our hearts. Farewell, dear Mavis.
