Mr Swayze served the BSD with professionalism, class, and dedication. He treated everyone gently, calmly, and politely. The trustees of the school board surely were fortunate to have him running things while they followed his lead and set policy. Thank you, Mr. Swayze. I've always spoke highly of you to everyone in the past, and will continue to do so.

Bob was Brandon School Division's Superintendent/CEO when I was hired a principal for Vincent Massey High School. I always admired Bob for his professionalism, kindness, sense of humour, family commitment, and his leadership. I was proud to be part of his divisional leadership team and I tried to mirror his strong professional and personal characteristics. To this day, I still speak about Bob and everything that I learned from him. He was a great man. Barb and I send our condolensces to Gilda, David, and Leeanne.

Ray and I were saddened to learn of the passing of Bob Swayze. Bob hired both Ray and I to teach in the Brandon School Division 46 years ago. We trust that your memories of happy times together will help to sustain you in the difficult days ahead. Ray and Hilda Wood

Mr. Swayze will be missed and thought of often by everyone on our Wilnor Bay corner. My memories of Mr. Swayze include his beautiful gardens, the backyard fish pond, playing croquet in his beautiful backyard, and having a visit on the driveway. He always made time for the neighbour kids, he was a staple on our Bay. Thinking of you all ❤️

I am very sorry to read about Mr. Swayze. I first met him as a student at B.C.I. in the late 60’s. I told my mother who my Science teacher was and she said she knew the family since they both came from Carnduff, Sask. I thought that was really” neat”. I really enjoyed his classes. He gave me a very positive attitude about becoming a teacher.
He gave me the opportunity to teach in Brandon in 1974. I have always appreciated it. I spent 32 years in the division. A few years ago, around Christmas, I saw him at the mall. I wished him a Merry Christmas and shook his hand. I thanked him so much for my years in the Division. He was a wonderful man and will be missed!

My deepest condolences to the Swayze families. I held Bob in the highest regard. It was a privilege to work for him and learn from him at BSD. I have very fond memories of his stories and the laughs we all shared in the staff room during those years.
I won't ever forget the exasperation and joy when he received the carefully orchestrated retirement card from "Cousin Patrick" in the folder of regular work mail that day. Such a good memory!
Bob always spoke of his family with such pride. I looked forward to the annual Christmas letter with updates and could always anticipate thoughtful words of encouragement for my own family. He was steadfast in his support of education and community. Brandon was lucky to have him. He will be dearly missed.
Sincerely,
Cathie Crossin and family

Bob was a true leader in public education: thoughtful, considerate, thorough, kind and a great sense of humour. While his legacy as a leader was largely in Brandon, he also played a key role as a leader among leaders with the Manitoba Association of School Suoerintendents. After retirement as Superintendent, Bob was engaged by the newly created Pembina Trails School Division in Winnipeg to merge the two legacy policy manuals. His legacy lives on. My deepest condolences to Bob's family.

I always feel that I benefitted from knowing and working with Bob Swayze. He was a strong advocate for investing in students, their families and their educators, and many of us were fortunate enough to have taught under the leadership of the team of Les Milne, Bob, and Hilt Stewart. Thoughts are with his family!

I didn’t see Bob too often, but when I did, I think we both enjoyed the visit?
We go back to when he was a member of the Brandon School Division administration
team and I was a young broadcaster and news reporter. He, along with Les, Hilt and Don
always treated me with respect and courtesy and endeavoured to communicate effectively
through the local media to the area ratepayers. Besides their professional approach, the four
of them lent a "human touch" to doing their jobs, not always present today?
To the members of your immediate and extended family, my sincere condolences.

Please accept our heart felt condolences on the passing of Uncle Bob. Although our visits were always too short and too infrequent we have very fond memories of the times we were able to get together. Especially the days we we spent parked in Bob and Gilda's driveway and the tour of the Carnduff area and it's history that Bob organized at the first Carnduff family reunion.
He will be missed. His often insightful as well as informative and always appreciated emails. His unfaltering effort to research and update the Swayze family history. His devotion to family. His willingness to step up whenever needed. He will be missed.
Although we are unable be there in person our thoughts and our prayers will be with you on Tuesday.
Love Dennis & Theresa Fairbairn and family.
