Obituary of Clarence Jackson
June 3, 1932 – November 20, 2023
Clarence Jackson passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Brandon Regional Health Centre after a courageous battle with cancer.
Clarence was born in Neepawa, MB and spent his early years in the Arden Ridge area. When first leaving home, he worked for Manitoba Telephones building telephone lines. He then settled in Brandon driving trucks for Macarthur’s. He left the trucking industry and had great success as a salesman for both Electrolux and Nelson Homes.
Dad loved meeting and chatting with anyone and everyone. No one loved a lively debate more than our CJ! He enjoyed coaching minor league baseball, and spending time in the hockey rinks watching his boys play hockey. Always a sports fan, he held season tickets to the Wheat Kings for over 30 years and tried to never miss a Blue Jay’s game. From the NHL to curling he was always watching.
In retirement he spent summers at the cottage with Mom, going golfing, fishing, and playing card games with friends.
Clarence was predeceased by his wife Joyce Jackson in 2009, his parents Leroy and Alice Jackson, sisters Donna Montgomery and Joyce Graham.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons Brian (Charlene) of Winnipeg, Terry (Teresa) of Chilliwack, B.C., Kevin (Cathy) of Winnipeg, and daughter Sharon Fayant (Leon) of Brandon; grandchildren Robin, Tara, Kyle, Christopher, Kristi, Curtis, Nicole and Adam; five great-grandchildren, Dallas, Ryley, Mya, Mackenzie and Nora.
At Dad’s request there will be no service. If friends so desire, donations can be made in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society,193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7.
