Harvey Morley passed away at Rideau Park Personal Care Home on Friday, December 1, 2023 at the age of 93 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Shirley, sister Betty DeJong, sister-in-law Diane Wallington, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Harvey was born November 8, 1930 in Dauphin, Manitoba to William and Daisy Morley. Harvey worked on the family farm until starting his employment with the Manitoba Power Commission, Construction Department as a labourer on July 31, 1951. He worked in many areas across Manitoba. With regionalization in 1972, Harvey moved to the western region in Brandon. He retired December 31, 1987 as a technical assistant in engineering. Harvey’s spare time was divided between being a member of Brandon City Lodge #6, I. O.O. F., the Hydro retirees club and his favourite past times of astronomy, reading, gardening and a little photography. Harvey and Shirley have travelled extensively to: the British Isles, Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, Las Vegas, Cuba and Caribbean Cruises. Harvey was predeceased by his parents William and Daisy Morley, infant sister Edith, brother-in-law Norman DeJong, sister Nora Nicholson (Lewis), sister Dorothy Forbes (Robert), sister-in-law Muriel Wallington, brother-in-law Albert Wallington, and nephew Owen Wallington. The family would like to thank the staff at Rideau Park Personal Care Home for the care they provided for Harvey. A Celebration of Harvey’s life will take place at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Kim Lewarne officiating. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery. Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Harvey may be made to Rideau Park Personal Care Home, 525 Victoria Ave. E, Brandon, MB R7A 6S9.
