Obituary of Gerald Charles Jones

Gerald passed away peacefully in his sleep, on December 10, 2023 at Brandon Regional Health Centre at the age of 80. He is now reunited with his wife of 50 years, Donna, and oldest son, David. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Vince (Holly) Jones and Angela Berkshire; his grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) Jones, Jillian (Paul) Smith, Carrie Jones (Mason Bylo), Beth Piontkowski, Dawn Piontkowski, Nicholas Piontkowski, Mitchell Berkshire (Amy Pardy) and Marisa Berkshire; as well as many great-grandchildren. Gerald grew up in the McGregor area with his siblings, the late John Jones, the late Ronald Jones and Doreen Henry. He dedicates his career as a power engineer, and retired as a supervisor of water and metres after a 30 year career with the City of Brandon. He was involved with AA for over 25 years, and was proud of his 45 years of sobriety. He was also a proud member of the Odd Fellows. Gerald’s family will remember him for his devotion to his family, especially his grandchildren, and his love of a Tim Horton’s coffee with 1 “sugar twins.” A Celebration of Life will take place at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8^th Street, Brandon, on Friday, December 15 at 2:00 p.m. with Carla Davidson officiating. He will be laid to rest with his beloved Donna at Rosewood Cemetery. If friends desire, memorial donations can be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200 17 St E, Brandon, MB R7A 7M6.
