Obituary of Keith Weinhandl
It is with much sadness that the family of Keith William Weinhandl announce his passing.
Keith passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 with his daughters by his side, after an 8 month long struggle with brain cancer. Keith was the second of four children born to Lorence and Mildred Weinhandl on March 26, 1958 in Kelvington, Saskatchewan. He was raised on the Weinhandl homestead farm and attended school in Lintlaw and Kelvington, SK. After graduating high school in 1976, he entered the workforce first as a mechanic and overhead crane operator in Regina and then as a machinist in Yorkton. In 1980, he met the mother of his children and moved to Brandon, MB. Keith and Karen were married from 1982 to 1999 and had two daughters together, Jennifer in 1983 and Michelle in 1989. He was never so proud of anything in his life as being a Dad to his girls. Keith spent nearly 30 years in the petroleum transportation business as a propane truck driver and spent his later career years as a dispatcher for various trucking businesses in Brandon. Keith was predeceased by his father Lorence Weinhandl in 2022 and his daughters’ mother Karen Weinhandl in 2018. Keith leaves to honour his memory, his mother, Mildred Weinhandl; brother Charles Weinhandl (Sandi); sisters Elaine Melsted (Lorne) and Marlene Chodak (Tim); daughters, Jennifer Watson (Dane) and Michelle Bedard (Scott); grandchildren, Dade and Mckenna as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. A memorial service will be held at the Community Hall in Lintlaw, Saskatchewan at 1pm (SK time), June 29th, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Keith may be made to Funds for Furry Friends (http://www.fundsfurfriends.com/donate.html). Keith loved his dogs Kia and Callie and would have loved to donations made in his or their names.
