Sadness...in that I won't get to tell him,face to face, his importance in this fellas life,but Lord, a life well lived with his bride and girls. I remember him painting kitchen every year,I remember a massive moose rack that he bagged, ducks,geese strung in back yard....a green freighter canoe he repaired,dad and Ed burning out wasp nests in ditch with non educational words and laughter...shagging golf balls,and fishing trips with good luck,bad luck, more laughter,the words "right side"which meant don't drink the water!!!!and the endless nights of clink,clink,clink,6'4 and 5'nothing, standing beside each other battling it out on the pitch.
Walking home together from curling rink or a wave on the golf course, I was so blessed to have had that opportunity to be his friend and even to look up to him(ya know what I mean). A quiet,unless wabbly pops involved,honest, dedicated,true gentleman. My condolences and may the Lord ease you sorrow ladies... I thank the Lord for all the memories. Last of the green street dads...Rest in Peace Ed.
