Katharine Elizabeth McDonald

Kathy passed away, surrounded by her family at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the age of 72. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Kathy was born in Neepawa, Manitoba on February 11, 1952 where she was raised, and later relocated to Brandon to pursue her education.

Kathy and Ray McDonald were married on September 28, 1974 in Brandon where they raised their 2 children. Her legacy will be remembered by her contributions to the arts and crafts community, as a passionate potter and ceramic artist. Kathy pursued her vocation as a social worker, a position she held for 30 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years Ray; daughter Marguerite (Nathan) Lewis; son Rob; sisters Colleen Black and Carolyn Bell, and brother Russell Kolesar. She was predeceased by her parents Bernard and Marguerite Kolesar and brothers Terry and Dale Kolesar.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 339 12th Street, Brandon, on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 2:30 p.m.
