Mildred Kamula passed away peacefully at the Morley House Personal Care Home, Shoal Lake, Manitoba on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the age of 93 years.
Mildred was born in Arcola, Saskatchewan on May 6, 1930 to Ralph and Eva Ellis. She was one of three girls in the Ellis family.
Once Mildred had completed her grade 11, she was employed at the University of Saskatchewan. She was also employed with the post office in Saskatoon for 25 years.
Mildred married Bill Kamula and they resided in Rivers, Manitoba. Mildred and Bill loved to travel; they especially loved the trip that took them to England.
Volunteering was something that Mildred loved to do. She would spend many hours volunteering with various organizations and being involved in many kinds of activities.
Eventually time took Mildred to Strathclair where she enjoyed spending time with her sister Evelyn. Mildred and Evelyn would spend many hours together solving all the problems of the world together over a good cup of coffee.
Bingo, making crafts, playing games, going for walks, reading and most importantly spending time with family were some of her favourite things to do fill her days. She was an avid gardener and loved to sew.
Mildred was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Eva Ellis; husband, Bill; sisters: Evelyn (George Simmerson), Alma (Gene Draves) and nephew Ron Simmerson.
She will be lovingly remembered by her nephews, Bob Simmerson (Linda Kirwin), Preston and Gordon; niece Val (Ron Simmerson) and great-nieces, Megan and Dawn Simmerson.
