Breast Cancer Network (CBCN). Sharon’s impact was felt deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her. Serving on the Board of Directors for an incredible 16 years before retiring in April 2024, her dedication to CBCN and its mission was unwavering.
Sharon was the embodiment of calm wisdom, common sense, and humour. Her voice was one of reason and grace, always managing to bring positivity to even the most difficult situations. A brilliant woman, Sharon was admired for her professionalism and her tireless work to ensure CBCN could serve those navigating the challenges of a breast cancer diagnosis. Her contributions were many, and her impact profound. We were all privileged to learn from Sharon, and we hold her as a role model for the work that CBCN continues to do. Beyond her professional life and volunteer work, Sharon was most proud of her beautiful partner and family, a source of love and joy that she held close to her heart.
Sharon was kind, social, and brought light to all those around her. She will be deeply missed by her friends, colleagues, and all those who were fortunate enough to cross her path and we take comfort in the memories we have of the wonderful times shared with her. Our deepest sympathies go out to her husband, son, mother, and the rest of her family and friends during this difficult time. May her legacy of compassion, dedication, and love live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

I kept Sharon in my thoughts and prayers since I was told she was sick again. Sharon was a brilliant woman and I was so impressed with her professionalism and dedication when we worked on the By-law Amendments and Constitution together on the CBCN Board. She was so focused and yet could take time for jokes and entertainment. She was a lovely beautiful woman and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her. I have made a donation to CBCN in her name.
My deepest sympathy to her husband, son, Mother,, and other family and friends.

Dear Ron and family: it is Aug. 18, 2024 and just found the obituary for dearest Sharon. It was my privilege to work closely with Sharon on the Board of CBCN (Canadian Breast Cancer Network) since dx back in 2003 until she retired from the BOD a few months back in 2024! Sharon was the voice of calm and wisdom and a large dose of common sense and good humour. I learned so much from her and consider her a role model for the work of CBCN. Besides her volunteer work for a wonderful cause, she was most proud of her beautiful partner/family! I cannot imagine the sorrow you must feel. The lovely video illustrates the wonderful full life you had together. May the memories of those times be of comfort during those lonesome moments; and though her mortal body may have been worn/tired, may you sense her wonderful energy/spirit. I will make a donation to CBCN in Sharon's memory as she was a pioneer in the good work of our 30 year old BC Network that still reaches/assists across Canada to those in need. Love and unlimited hugs to you all - holding you in my heart - Judy Donovan Whitty, Charlottetown, PEI Aug. 18, 2024

I am so sorry for this tremendous loss for Sharon's family and to all who knew her because to know her is to love her. Sharon was a joy to work with: bright, intelligent, professional, supportive, encouraging, fun and funny. Sharon had the gift of hospitality and was so good at putting others at ease. It hasn't been the same without her since her retirement for sure and is often missed. Knowing this bright star is no longer with us is hard on hearts and minds. I last saw Sharon out enjoying the Westman Multicultural Festival this year at the Ukrainian pavilion. My condolences are with you.

A wonderful friendship that grew into kindred spirits when Sharon reached out following my own daughter’s passing. She knew. Forever grateful. Sharon's unselfishness touched the lives of too many to count. A true gem, such a beautiful loving giving soul and the pillar of strength while dealing with her own health issues.
Rest In Eternal Peace, Sharon.
Her spirit will be very present and embraced at our 50th reunion this fall.
My love and deepest sympathies to Ron, Travis, her Mom, family and so many friends.

I was blessed enough to have the leadership from Sharon as a manager in my career. She was quick to provide support and walk you through tough situations, as well as provide a hug when she could tell you needed one. She really was a strong, compassionate and thoughtful leader and mentor. She has been missed since her retirement and will be so missed by all of those who knew her.

To Ron and Travis, we are so sorry for the loss of your dear Sharon, gone way too soon after fighting her illness so hard. Being a "BMHC Class of '74" alumni; I know all of us in that class are mourning her passing deeply. She was, as one classmate put it, the "glue" that held us together by making sure we had our reunions every 5 years. You always knew when Sharon was close by if you heard her wonderful laugh. She had a remarkable way with people and I have no doubt she touched so many lives throughout her career and made a huge difference to them. Her family was never far away from her mind as she talked so fondly of you all. I am so very sad she will not be here for our 50th reunion this fall, as the group of us that planned it excitedly together on our "old people Zoom calls" were so looking forward to it, especially our leader Sharon. May you find some measure of comfort in all the good memories. Sincerely Shirley and Grant Gardiner

My last FaceTime with you, my dearest Sister…a week or before you left us…I was so glad we watched a giant rainbow filling the sky, and you told me how you liked my place, and I knew your hope that moment was as big as heaven... I am forever thankful for every single moment with you, for childhood days, growing up and sharing life, and for the many great laughs we shared including recent long text’ing and nighty-night messaging silliness. I am thankful for your heroic going before all of us, in so many ways, including with our “new knees”. I love your heart that was as big as the ocean, and your eye for everything exquisitely lovely and beautiful. I loved your crazy sense of fun and special knack you had for bringing people together, including for many wonderful summer weekend times at “Possum Lodge”, for the stargazing late nights, for your out of this world cooking and Bourbon Chicken, for our kayaking ventures on Clear Lake, and attending the Canada Day citizenship ceremonies there, for frozen yogurts and lakeside talks and walks, for Scrabble “wars” and so much more. Thank you for your incredible hospitality and for always being the hostess with the mostest including your 2019 Brandon Manitoba Christmas with you and Ronnie and Trav, mom Martha and John. Memories of you will fill my heart always and are all beyond words. Love you lots and forever, your sis, Sooz Planting trees for you.

Ron and Travis, I am so sorry for your loss. Sharon was a wonderful lady...
I have know her since 1973 when you first dated and we have always kept in touch and a visit here and there over the years. Sharon will be missed...her hearty laugh, her annual Christmas letters and I will miss her texts. I called her Miss Mothball...she gave me a card that had the Ukrainian Zodia signs on it and hers was mothball and mine is cast iron frying pan. We had great chuckles about this.
May she be at peace without any pain and suffering...she fought hard. Please find comfort in knowing she is in the arms of the angels and will be watching over you both with love. May your hearts heal and may God bless you.....
