Obituary of Eileen Harris
On Thursday, June 6, 2024 Eileen Margaret Harris went to be with the Lord. Eileen was born on September 23, 1918, along with her twin sister Elna to Margaret and John Brodie of Brandon. Eileen was one of six children who enjoyed many family gatherings throughout the years. She had many hobbies which included music, sewing, playing cards, embroidery, ceramics, bowling, crafts and going to flea markets to sell the items she made. She also filled her family’s homes with her many creations. Eileen ran the lunch counter at the Royalite Service Station that she and her husband owned. Later, when they moved to Regina, Eileen was the head cook at the Canadian Bible College for fourteen years. Eileen also spent eighteen summers cooking at Lumsden Beach Bible Camp outside of Regina. Still today, all of her family have many of her recipes, and try to make them as deliciously as she did. In 1974, Eileen went to Britain with her daughter Lynne and spent a month travelling to England and Scotland. A highlight of her trip was visiting Brodie Castle and meeting Ninian Brodie, the head of the Brodie Clan. Eileen has numerous grandchildren. She enjoyed them immensely and was always glad when they came to visit. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Ted, daughter Rita, granddaughter Melinda and great-grandson Logan. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Ray (Pat), daughter Lynne (Ernie), grandchildren Debbie (Rob), Rick (Jennifer), Gary (Rachelle), Dyanne (Bruce), Danny, Grant, Brian and Bruce as well as many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332 8th Street, Brandon, MB on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Minnewawa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Eileen may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, PO Box 460 STN K, Toronto, ON, M4P 9Z9 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 55 St. Clair Ave, Suite 300, Toronto, ON, M4V 2Y7
